Which dog training method do you believe in? Positive reinforcement? Negative reinforcement? Both? My opinion: --------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm all for positive reinforcement. It's the best method I've ever come by. I love motivating my dogs with rewards. They enjoy it more and learn better this way. There seems to be a little confusion with positive reinforcement, so let me clear a couple of things up: 1. The reward is slowly faded out once the dog knows the trick well and after that, only an occasional reward is given. 2. PR is commonly called "purely positive". Actually, it does include punishment, simply a different kind of punishment. Such as, ignoring the dog when he jumps up on you, because this takes away what he really wants: attention.
That said, I do believe that negative reinforcement is sometimes needed. But in most cases, it isn't. So I kinda believe in both.
