If you see someone on here looking for help on a problem with their pet, please do not tell them that they are stupid (e.g. "You're so dumb! You should know this!!!"), simply educate them. If you can't say it nicely, don't say it at all. If someone says something like, "My dog is sick and I don't want to take him to the vets...what can I do?", please do not bash them even then. Many owners, especially first-time owners, do not know better. An appropiate response to a question like that: "Please take him to the vet, for the sake of your dog. This problem is very serious and can be handled most correctly by a vet. He could die if you don't."
An inappropiate response: "You are SO heartless! How could you keep your poor poor pet away from the vets? Jerk! Don't you know that he could die because of your stupidity?"
This also applies to new pet owners who do not fully know how to correctly care for, and train, their pets. Consider that a nice, yet tactful, response will generally be listened to with more acceptance than a bashing critique.
Also, be aware that this board is not a replacement for professional advice./
